Often times there is no operative report available for patients that are seen in the office with an already implanted shoulder prosthesis. And the questions that remains is "What kind of implant does the patient have currently implanted?" The database developed at the University of Washington in Seattle provides pictures and Xrays of implants that can be used to identify a prosthesis by comparing it with the radiograph of the shoulder of the patient that is under your care. This is for educational use and the method of identification of the implant is depended upon the surgeon. For more information visit http://depts.washington.edu/shoulder/Prostheses.htm
